The project was born from an old laundry, part of a building dating back to the 1970s. A space in which it was necessary to give imagination, and the dignity of home, without changing its structure. Right from the start, the desire for a functional architectural intervention was perceived, with the possibility of customization aimed at the most convincing solution — an idea in line with the spirit and experience of the company. Solutions nurtured by the most up-to-date building concepts and put into practice by drawing on up-to-date technology.
The addition of two steel modules with large windows has allowed the development of two distinct areas of the Atelier, to recover the surface area. In this way, the luminosity inside the central arch has benefited, for a significant reduction of the energy impact.
Measures have been developed to eliminate the obstacles and make the use of the spaces more fluid and open, such as the vaulted ceiling from which the central pillar has been removed and replaced by a stiffened Cor-ten steel beam. The result is a large living room, where the old barrel ceiling is flanked by two opposing glass and steel cases, defined by as many canopies.
Atelier Dal Pozzo’s project offers an innovative and functional vision to those who want to build in situations apparently out of the ordinary.
