Ernesto Gismondi founded Artemide in 1960 and the first lamp, designed by Sergio Mazza, is Alfa. Artemide is one of the leading companies of lighting sector thanks to the continuous performance of products without sacrificing sustainability and responding to the real needs of man. His lamps are known throughout the world as icons of lighting design. A famous Artmemide table lamps are Eclisse by Vico Magistretti and Tolomeo by De Lucchi. Many Artemide lamps are present in the most prestigious international museums, including the MoMA in NY, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Milan.
