Calligaris

Calligaris was born in 1923 in the province of Udine, from the futuristic genius of Antonio Calligaris. In a craft laboratory, Antonio creates the first chair, the Marocca, consisting of a straw seat and curved wooden legs. In the years to come, Friuli Venezia Giulia is recognized as "the chair district," thanks to companies like Calligaris, able to pass on a high-level artisan tradition to the new generations. In 1986, Alessandro Calligaris, the third generation of the family, became president and introduced other furnishing accessories, such as tables, furniture, beds, and sofas. A change that follows one of the primary ideals of the Friulian company, with the ambition to keep up with the times, creating a mix between contemporary design and flexibility.
After a process of growth and development, Calligaris has established itself as an international brand, with more than 620 stores and three flagship stores in 100 different countries.
