Catellani & Smith exports Made in Italy handcrafted lamps all over the world, thanks to the insight of its creator, Enzo Catellani, and his passion for light. After having to close a lamp shop in Bergamo, Catellani does not give up and continues to pursue his interest in the world of lighting. The main characteristic of his creations is a manual skill; Catellani does not design his pieces-instead, he invents them on the moment striving for perfection before coming up with the final product. This obstinacy led him to be recognized by a group of Germans who noticed his creations and put them on display at the Dusseldorf fair, one of which is Turciù, a lamp with flexible cables, useful to direct the light to every corner of the surrounding environment. Given the many requests for his pieces, in 1989, Enzo Catellani founded Catellani & Smith, accomplishing, over the years, not only to exhibit their collections but also exporting their artisan lamps on every continent.
